N26 Alternatives for Investing With AI (2026)

Guides
Moneda Guides: an illustration of the Moneda face

This guide is by Moneda, one of the apps compared here.

Short answer: N26 is a full bank with a simple way to buy stocks, ETFs and crypto, and its AI Insights feature suggests N26 products from your account activity, but its pages describe no AI that researches stocks. For an AI that researches companies and shows the source of every figure, Moneda. To let your own ChatGPT or Claude trade at a European broker, Scalable Capital. For social investing with an AI helper inside the app, eToro.

  • Best for researching with AI and investing in the same app: Moneda (Standard free; Premium from €9.99/month)
  • Best for connecting your own AI to a European broker: Scalable Capital (FREE plan at €0.99 per trade on EIX; PRIME+ €4.99/month)
  • Best for social investing with a built-in AI helper: eToro ($1 or $2 per stock trade; no commission on ETFs)

What to look for

  • What the AI really does. Sorting your card spending is one job. Reading a company's annual report and explaining its risks is another.
  • Whether you can check the answer. A number with no source behind it is a guess you cannot audit. Look for links back to the original document.
  • Who approves the trades. In every app here, nothing is bought or sold without your confirmation.
  • Which markets it covers. Some apps focus on European exchanges, others on the US.
  • Trading and currency costs. Buying a dollar-priced stock with euros usually carries a separate exchange cost.

Why look beyond N26

N26

N26 is a German bank, and that matters. Its stocks page says deposits are protected up to €100,000 under the German deposit protection scheme. None of the alternatives below gives you a current account with that kind of guarantee, so if you want your salary, card and investments under one banking licence, N26 has the edge.

For investing, the N26 app lets you buy and sell more than 5,000 stocks, ETFs and ETCs from €1, and set up savings plans where you pick how often and how much. Execution and custody run through its partner Upvest. Each buy or sell costs €0.90, holding is free, and paid plans include some free trades each month: 3 on N26 Go and 10 on N26 Metal. N26 notes that stocks and ETFs are not available in every country.

N26 Crypto is powered by Bitpanda and available to eligible customers in Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Portugal. Fees are 1.5% per trade for Bitcoin and 2.5% for other coins, with a lower rate on Metal up to €5,000 a month. N26 also extended its Flexible Cash Fund to every membership tier in October 2026, according to its press page.

What we did not find is AI for investing. Neither the investing pages nor the press releases we read mention an AI that answers questions about companies or your portfolio. If research is the reason you are choosing an app, look elsewhere.

The alternatives

Moneda

What it is: a co-investing app built in Europe, where you research and invest in the same place.

What the AI does: Moneda AI is the agent, and it runs on Numa 1, Moneda's financial AI model. It searches the filings companies submit to the SEC (the US securities regulator) and the transcripts of their earnings calls, and it cites the filing or data behind every number it gives you. It lays out the bull case and the bear case. There is a daily briefing, earnings summaries and a stock screener too. You can import what you already hold at N26 as a paper portfolio, stress test it against past market crashes and compare it with gold or an index. The agent never tells you to buy or sell.

What you can buy: US-listed stocks and ETFs (exchange-traded funds, baskets of assets that trade like one share), crypto, and gold, silver and oil through ETFs. Stocks and ETFs are tokenised through the brokerage partner Dinari: you hold a token that tracks the share price, not the share itself, and it carries no voting rights. You approve every trade with your Passkey. More detail on investing with Moneda.

Using it with other AI tools: with Moneda MCP you can connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client to your account with the permissions you choose, and payments are still approved in the app. See the developers page.

Price: Standard is free. Premium from €9.99/month and Ultra €19.99/month. Depending on the plan, you get 1, 5 or 10 commission-free trades a month.

Best for: people who want to understand a company before buying it, with the sources in front of them.

Limitation: Moneda is not a bank and is not regulated; its partners are. There is no current account with a deposit guarantee, and no shares or funds from European exchanges.

Scalable Capital

What it is: a German broker, and one of the larger investing apps in Europe.

What the AI does: since 25 August 2026 it has offered Agentic Investing. You connect an AI such as ChatGPT, Claude or Grok to your account and ask it to search stocks, ETFs and derivatives, pull quotes and news, analyse your portfolio for diversification and risk, or prepare trades and savings plans. You approve trades and savings plans before they run. Deposits and withdrawals only happen in Scalable's own app or website, never through the AI.

Costs: the FREE plan charges €0.99 per trade on EIX and €1.99 on Xetra and gettex. PRIME+ costs €4.99/month and makes EIX trades of €250 or more commission-free. Savings plan executions are free on both, according to Scalable's pricing page.

Best for: people who already use a general AI tool and want a broker with European stocks and ETFs. For a German N26 customer, it is the closest like-for-like swap on the investing side.

Limitation: you bring the AI. Scalable does not have its own agent that researches companies and cites its sources.

eToro

What it is: an investing platform with a social side, where you can copy other investors.

What the AI does: Tori, its AI helper, remembers your holdings, your interests and earlier chats. It reviews your portfolio, flags risks and uses Grok to show sentiment from discussion on X. It also helps you build Agent Portfolios: you describe a strategy, an agent manages the portfolio, and you can halt it at any time. eToro says Tori is for information only, its answers may be wrong or incomplete, and it is not investment advice.

Costs: according to its fees page, a $1 or $2 commission may apply when you open and close a stock position, depending on your country and the exchange. ETF trades carry no commission. Withdrawals from a USD account cost $5, and currency conversion fees vary.

Best for: people who want social investing and an AI helper in the app.

Limitation: it also offers CFDs (contracts for difference, leveraged products), and eToro states that 55% of retail investor accounts lose money trading CFDs with it.

Which alternative to choose

Many people will not need to choose at all. Keeping N26 as your bank and opening a separate investing app is common, and nothing here forces you to move your salary.

If you do add one, think about the job you want the AI to do. To read a company's filings with you and show where each figure comes from, Moneda. To let your own ChatGPT or Claude place orders on European exchanges, Scalable Capital. To follow other investors with an AI helper alongside, eToro. And if you just want a cheap, simple way to put a little into an ETF every month next to your current account, N26 already does that well.

FAQ

Does N26 have AI for investing?

Not for researching stocks. N26 has AI Insights, which looks at your account activity and suggests N26 products. Its stocks, crypto and press pages, as of October 2026, describe no AI that researches stocks or answers questions about your portfolio.

How much does it cost to buy stocks with N26?

N26 charges €0.90 per buy or sell of stocks, ETFs and ETCs, with 3 free trades a month on N26 Go and 10 on N26 Metal. Holding is free, though ETF product costs still apply.

Can I keep N26 and use Moneda for investing?

Yes. They do different jobs. You can also import your N26 holdings into Moneda as a paper portfolio so the agent can analyse them without you selling anything.

Can the AI buy stocks for me?

Not without your confirmation, in any of the alternatives here. In Moneda you approve every trade with your Passkey, and Scalable Capital asks you to approve each trade and savings plan.

Is my money protected like it is at N26?

N26 deposits are covered up to €100,000 by the German deposit protection scheme. Moneda is not a bank and is not regulated, so that guarantee does not apply to it.
