How Moneda protects your account.
You sign in with a passkey, money moves with your approval, and you set up your own way back in. This page explains how each part keeps your money under your control.

How you sign in
A passkey, not a password
You sign in with a passkey, unlocked by your face, your fingerprint or your device PIN. There is nothing to type and nothing to remember.
Nothing to phish
A passkey lives on your device or in your synced keychain. It is not a shared secret that leaves your device, so it cannot be phished or leaked the way a password can.
On your other devices too
If your passkey syncs through your Apple, Google or password manager account, you can sign in on your other devices as well.
Two passkeys, two jobs
Your login passkey opens the app. Your transaction passkey approves anything that moves money or changes your security settings. Each one is protected, and recovered, separately.
How money moves

Tell Moneda AI what you want done, in your own words.
2. It prepares
It builds the payment or the trade. Nothing has moved yet.
3. You check
Recipient and amount, in front of you, before anything happens.
4. You approve
Your face or your fingerprint signs it with your passkey.
If you lose your device
A backup passkey
Add a backup passkey and losing one device does not lock you out. A passkey that syncs through your keychain is already on your other devices.
Recovery emails
Link an email address you control, and you can later prove the account is yours and restore access. Recovery gives back your ability to sign. It does not move or hold your funds.
Trusted contacts
Nominate people you trust to help you back in. You start the request, a contact approves it, and a safety delay runs before it completes, so you can cancel a request you did not make.
No seed phrases
There is no list of words to write down and hide. Recovery does have to be set up before you need it: without it, a lost passkey can mean losing access for good.

What Moneda can and cannot do
Nothing moves outside what you approved
Moneda is self-custodial. Your funds sit in an account that only your passkey can sign for, so Moneda does not hold them and cannot move them.
Moneda cannot restore your keys
Moneda does not store your passkeys or private keys and cannot restore them for you. That is why recovery is something you set up yourself.
Scheduled payments run on schedule
A payment you scheduled and signed yourself runs without a new prompt, inside the recipient, amount and dates you signed. That is the one case where money moves without a fresh approval.
Not a bank, and not deposit-guaranteed
Everyday balances are held as regulated stablecoins in your own account, not as bank deposits. Moneda is a financial technology company, not a bank, and is not covered by deposit guarantee schemes.
Your data, under European privacy law
Built in Europe
Moneda is based in Berlin, and Moneda AI is designed to meet EU data-protection law, the GDPR, from the start.
Accountable AI
Built with the EU AI Act in mind: Moneda AI always tells you it is an AI, what it does is logged, and it is tested against guardrails and evaluations.
What it remembers
Your goals, your preferences and the decisions you tell it about, so its answers fit you. You can ask what it has saved at any time.
What it will not keep
Health, religion, politics and other sensitive details are not saved, even if you mention them.
Forget on request
Ask it to forget something and that fact is removed. Your balances and holdings are read fresh each time, never recalled from memory.
Temporary chats
A temporary chat does not appear in your history, is not used to update what Moneda AI remembers about you, and is deleted within 48 hours.
Only providers we vet
Moneda AI answers using models from outside providers we choose with care. Any provider that falls short on data protection is blocked.
Used to answer you
What Moneda AI learns about you is used to answer you. It is not sold, and it is not shared with other users.
