Best AI Investing Apps for Beginners in 2026, Compared

Federico Kunze Küllmer is the founder of Moneda, one of the tools compared here.
Short answer: If you are new to investing, pick an app whose AI explains its numbers and shows where they came from. Then decide whether you want research and investing in one place, or a research tool next to the broker you already use. We compared six apps using only what each vendor publishes on its own site.
- Best overall for beginners: Moneda (Standard free; Premium from €9.99/month). Shows the source behind each figure, gives a bull and bear case, and lets you invest in the same app.
- Best for a large range of things to trade: Public (price not published)
- Best for ranked stock ideas: Danelfin (free; Plus €22/month billed yearly)
- Best for a free daily market picture: Perplexity Finance (free to view)
- Best for checking figures against filings: Fiscal.ai (price not published)
- Best for general money questions: ChatGPT (Free plan; paid prices not published on the page we read)
AI investing apps are now easy to find. The hard part is telling which ones help a beginner understand what they are buying. This guide compares six of them on the same fields, so you can match one to how you want to invest.
We did not test these apps hands-on. Every fact below comes from the vendor's own page, read on 23 October 2026. Where a page did not state something, we say so.

What to look for
A few plain questions will sort most apps quickly.
- Can you see the source? Good research tools show where a number came from, such as a 10-K (the yearly report a US company files with regulators). If you cannot check it, treat it as a guess.
- Does it show both sides? A useful tool gives you the case for a company and the case against it.
- Does it explain terms? You should not need a finance degree. Look for apps that explain things like the P/E ratio (share price divided by earnings per share) in plain words.
- Can you act on it, and who approves? Some apps let you invest in the same place. Check that you approve every trade yourself.
- What does it cover? US shares only, European shares, ETFs (funds that trade on an exchange like a single share), crypto? Pick an app that covers what you actually want to own.
- What does it really cost? Free plans often limit how many reports or questions you get.
The apps, compared
Moneda
What it is: An investing app for mobile and web, built in Berlin. You research and invest in the same app.
What the AI does: Moneda AI is built on Numa 1, Moneda's own financial AI engine. It works figures out from the data and shows the source behind each one. It gives the bull case and the bear case. It scores a company's 7 Powers, a framework for judging a moat (a lasting edge competitors struggle to copy). It also checks quality of earnings, meaning whether reported profit is backed by real cash, and gives each company a Moneda Ratio, a descriptive 1 to 7 scorecard. Describe an idea in plain language and the agent finds matching investments. Give it a goal and it builds an illustrative portfolio, tracks it, tells you when something changes, and stress-tests it against 2008, 2020 and 2022. You can benchmark a portfolio against gold, an index or any fund. Each day it sends a short briefing on your portfolio and the market in plain words, and when a company reports earnings it sums up what changed. In Moneda's own October 2026 tests the agent scored 97.9% groundedness and 92% claim verifiability. Moneda MCP connects Claude and ChatGPT to your Moneda account, and you choose what each one can see and do. The agent never tells you to buy or sell, and you approve every trade with your passkey (face or fingerprint).
Data covered: Stocks, ETFs, crypto and a few commodities through ETFs (gold, silver, oil). Research uses company filings and live market data. You can invest in US-listed shares and ETFs (fractional) and crypto.
Price: Standard is free. Premium is from €9.99/month. Ultra is from €19.99/month, with more AI usage and 1, 5 or 10 commission-free trades a month depending on the plan. The REST API and CLI come with Premium and Ultra.
Best for: Beginners who want to research and invest in one app: every term is explained, every figure shows its source, and nothing happens without your approval.
One honest limitation: You can only invest in US-listed shares and ETFs, not European-listed stocks or funds.
Public
What it is: An investing platform with AI features built in.
What the AI does: Public lists AI agents that can act on your behalf, a daily market briefing, explanations of big price moves on charts, earnings call summaries and a research tool for questions about a stock's price, financials and analyst ratings. Its Generated Assets feature turns a prompt into an index you can invest in and backtest against the S&P 500.
Data covered: Its page lists over 9,000 stocks, 60+ crypto assets, ETFs, options, bonds and Treasuries, and prediction markets.
Price: Not published on the page we read.
Best for: Beginners who want a very wide menu of things to trade.
One honest limitation: We could not find prices on its own page, so check the fee schedule before you sign up.
Danelfin
What it is: A stock and ETF rating service.
What the AI does: It gives each stock and ETF an AI Score with buy, hold and sell signals, built from technical, fundamental and sentiment scores. Paid plans add price forecasts and trade ideas.
Data covered: Rankings for US stocks, US ETFs and European stocks. Paid plans can sync portfolios from US broker accounts.
Price: Free plan with 10 reports a month. Plus is €22/month, Pro €59/month and Elite €134/month, all billed yearly (monthly billing is also offered).
Best for: People who want a ranked shortlist to start their own research.
One honest limitation: It rates investments but you cannot invest inside it, and signals tell you what to do rather than walking you through why.
Perplexity Finance
What it is: The finance section of Perplexity's AI search.
What the AI does: It writes market summaries with the number of sources shown, and has pages for earnings, a screener and watchlists.
Data covered: US markets, crypto and earnings, with quotes and basics like P/E ratio and dividend yield.
Price: The finance pages loaded free for us without signing in. Perplexity's paid plan price was not shown on the page we read.
Best for: A quick free read of what moved the market today.
One honest limitation: It is a research and news tool. You cannot invest through it.
Fiscal.ai
What it is: A financial data platform with a research terminal, a data API and MCP connectors for AI tools.
What the AI does: It pulls figures out of filings within minutes of release and links each one back to its source. Its MCP product feeds that data into the AI tools you already use.
Data covered: Financial statements and ratios, segments and KPIs, adjusted metrics, filings, transcripts, estimates, ownership and news. Quotes are 15-minute delayed.
Price: Not published. Terminal and MCP plans include a 7 day free trial.
Best for: Beginners who like to check every number, such as free cash flow (cash left after running the business and investing in it).
One honest limitation: It is built for heavy research. A beginner may find it more data than guidance, and you cannot invest through it.
ChatGPT
What it is: OpenAI's general AI assistant.
What the AI does: It answers questions, searches the web, analyses data you upload and runs deep research. Its plan page lists a Finances feature.
Data covered: Not documented for investing specifically.
Price: There is a Free plan, plus Go, Plus and Pro. The paid prices were not shown on the page we read.
Best for: Learning terms, like what a DCF is (a discounted cash flow model, which values a company from the cash it may make in future).
One honest limitation: It is a general tool, so check its numbers against the source. Through Moneda MCP, you can connect it to your Moneda account if you want it working with your own portfolio.
How to choose
Ask yourself what you want to do next.
| If you want to... | Start with | Can you invest in it? |
|---|---|---|
| Learn terms and basics | ChatGPT or Perplexity Finance (free) | No |
| Get a ranked shortlist | Danelfin | No |
| Verify figures against filings | Fiscal.ai | No |
| Trade a very wide range of assets | Public | Yes |
| Research and invest in one app, with every term explained and your approval on every trade | Moneda | Yes (US-listed shares, ETFs, crypto) |
Most tools do research or investing, not both. That is why Moneda is in this list.
Whatever you pick, try the free plan first and ask it about a company you already know. If the answer is vague or has no sources, move on.
FAQ
Can an AI app pick stocks for me?
Some apps give signals or rankings. Moneda AI never tells you to buy or sell. It shows the data and both sides, and you decide.
Are AI investing apps free?
Many have free plans. Moneda Standard, Danelfin Free, ChatGPT Free and Perplexity Finance pages are free to use, with limits.
Can I invest in European stocks with Moneda?
No. Moneda supports US-listed shares and ETFs, plus crypto.
What is an ETF?
A fund that holds many investments and trades on an exchange like one share. It is a simple way to spread risk.
Are benchmark scores proof that an AI is accurate?
They help, but read who ran them. Moneda's scores, such as 80% on the public set of the Vals AI Finance Agent Benchmark v2, were run and graded by Moneda. Vals AI's top published score, 65.4%, is on its private set, which is a different test.
