## Is the Bitcoin I buy in Moneda real Bitcoin?

Your position is backed 1:1 by Bitcoin, but what you hold on Base is a token called cbBTC, issued by Coinbase. Coinbase holds the actual BTC in custody and issues cbBTC against it, which is what lets Bitcoin settle on Base in seconds for cents. Moneda shows it as "BTC" by default because that is the exposure you have. If you would rather see the exact on-chain token, turn on "Wrapped token tickers" in Settings > App settings and it will read cbBTC everywhere. The practical difference: alongside Bitcoin's price risk, you are also trusting Coinbase to keep honouring redemption.

## Why does my Ethereum show as WETH?

WETH is ether in ERC-20 form. Ether is the native currency of its network and does not follow the token standard that exchanges and apps expect, so it is "wrapped" into WETH to make it tradable. There is no company in the middle: wrapping is done by a public contract, one WETH is always one ETH, and unwrapping is open to anyone. Moneda shows it as "ETH" by default because that is what it is; turn on "Wrapped token tickers" in Settings > App settings to see WETH.

## Why does Moneda show BTC when the token is called cbBTC?

Because the wrapper is our plumbing, not your investment. Holding Bitcoin on Base requires a token that represents it, and the ticker for that token (cbBTC) says more about how it got there than about what you own. We lead with the asset, Bitcoin (BTC), and disclose the wrapper. If you want the exact on-chain instrument shown everywhere instead, turn on "Wrapped token tickers" in Settings > App settings: prices, balances, trades and history will all read cbBTC and WETH.

## Where does Moneda buy and sell crypto?

Trades run on decentralised exchanges on Base and settle straight from your own wallet, approved with your passkey. Moneda never takes custody of your assets.

You are quoted a price before you confirm. Bitcoin and Ethereum trades carry a minimum amount you will receive: if the price moves past it while the trade is being processed, the trade is cancelled on-chain and is not filled at a worse price.

Any fee Moneda charges is shown as its own line, "Moneda fee", before you commit. Depending on your plan, some trades are commission-free.
