## What to look for

- **Where the numbers come from.** The best tools tie each figure to a filing, such as a [10-K](/blog/how-to-read-a-10-k-with-ai) (the annual report a US company files with the [SEC](https://www.sec.gov)). If you cannot see the source, you cannot check it.
- **How much history you get.** Ten years of revenue and free cash flow (the cash left after a business pays for running and maintaining itself) tells you more than two.
- **What the AI actually does.** Some tools only chart data. Others answer questions, write summaries or work out ratios like P/E (share price divided by earnings per share).
- **Both sides of the case.** Look for a tool that shows the risks as clearly as the upside.
- **Coverage.** Check the markets you care about. Some cover 90+ markets, some only US listings.
- **What happens after research.** If you have to copy a ticker into a separate broker, that is an extra step and a second account.
- **Price for the tier you need.** Free plans often cut history or report counts.

## The tools, one by one

### Moneda

- **What it is:** an app (mobile, plus web), built in Europe, where you research and invest in the same place.
- **What the AI does:** [Moneda AI](/financial-agent) runs on [Numa 1](/models/numa-1), Moneda's financial AI engine. It works figures out from company filings, earnings-call transcripts (searchable by ticker and quarter) and live market data and shows the source behind each one. It gives the bull case and the bear case, scores a company's [7 Powers](/blog/what-are-the-7-powers) (a framework for judging a moat, meaning a lasting edge over competitors), checks quality of earnings and gives a Moneda Ratio, a descriptive 1 to 7 scorecard. It has a stock screener: describe an idea in plain words and it finds matches. It also writes earnings summaries after each report. It can build an illustrative portfolio from your goal, track it, tell you when something changes and [stress test it](/blog/best-ai-tools-to-stress-test-a-portfolio) against 2008, 2020 and 2022. You can benchmark a portfolio against gold, an index or any fund.
- **Data covered:** stocks, ETFs (exchange traded funds, baskets of assets you buy as one share), a few commodities through ETFs (gold, silver, oil) and crypto. You can buy fractional US-listed shares and ETFs, and crypto, [in the same app](/invest). You approve every trade with your passkey (face or fingerprint). The agent never tells you to buy or sell.
- **Extras:** [Moneda MCP](/developers) connects [Claude](https://claude.ai) and ChatGPT to your account, and you choose what each agent can see and do. Payments are approved in the app. REST API and CLI on Premium and Ultra.
- **Price:** Standard is free. [Premium from €9.99/month](/plans). Ultra from €19.99/month, with more AI usage and 1, 5 or 10 commission free trades a month.
- **Best for:** answers that show the source behind every figure, then investing in the same app, with your approval on every trade.
- **Scores:** in Moneda's own tests in October 2026 it scored 97.9% on groundedness, 92% on claim verifiability, 95.6% on FLARE-CFA and 80% on the [Vals AI](https://www.vals.ai) Finance Agent Benchmark v2 public set. Moneda ran these itself; Vals AI's top published score, 65.4%, is on its private set, which is a different set. Company financials come from [EODHD](https://eodhd.com), about two decades of history for most US stocks.
- **One honest limitation:** you can only invest in US-listed shares and ETFs, so no European-listed stocks or funds.

### [Koyfin](https://www.koyfin.com/pricing/)

- **What it is:** a market data terminal with charts, dashboards and screens.
- **What the AI does:** its pricing page lists no Koyfin AI features.
- **Data covered:** 2 years of financials on Free. Plus adds 10 years of financials and estimates and 100K+ global company snapshots. Advisor plans add mutual fund data.
- **Price:** Free; Plus $39/month; Premium $79/month; Advisor Core $209/month; Advisor Pro $299/month. Annual plans save up to 30%, per the page.
- **Best for:** investors who like building their own charts and dashboards.
- **One honest limitation:** no AI layer is documented, so you do the analysis yourself.

### [TIKR](https://www.tikr.com/pricing)

- **What it is:** a financial data terminal for company financials.
- **What the AI does:** not documented on its pricing page.
- **Data covered:** Free covers US data with 5 years of financials. Paid plans add global data, with up to 30 years of financials on Ultimate.
- **Price:** Free; Plus $24.95/month; Pro $54.95/month; Ultimate $119.95/month.
- **Best for:** long term investors who want decades of history for little money.
- **One honest limitation:** the free plan is US only, and the page does not say how many stocks it covers.

### [Simply Wall St](https://simplywall.st/plans)

- **What it is:** visual company reports, screeners and a portfolio tracker.
- **What the AI does:** Charlie AI sits under company research, and AI Transaction Import brings in your trades. Which plans include Charlie AI is not clear from the page text.
- **Data covered:** 120K+ stocks across 90+ markets, with financial data from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
- **Price:** Free, Premium and Unlimited plans. Prices are not published on the plans page. Every account starts with a 7 day Premium trial, no card needed.
- **Best for:** people who prefer pictures to spreadsheets.
- **One honest limitation:** the free plan caps you at 5 company reports a month.

### [Perplexity](https://www.perplexity.ai/pro)

- **What it is:** an AI answer engine that cites its sources inline.
- **What the AI does:** answers questions with citations, runs deep research and lets you pick between AI models.
- **Data covered:** the web and premium sources. Its own page does not set out a dedicated stock data set.
- **Price:** Free; Pro $17/month and Max $167/month, both billed annually.
- **Best for:** fast, cited research on a company, a market or a news event.
- **One honest limitation:** it is a general research tool, so it has no built in stock scorecards, portfolio tracking or investing.

### [ChatGPT](https://chatgpt.com/pricing)

- **What it is:** [OpenAI](https://openai.com)'s general AI assistant.
- **What the AI does:** answers questions, runs deep research and analyses data you upload. A Finances feature is listed on its pricing page.
- **Data covered:** whatever it finds through search or what you give it. Its pricing page does not describe a stock data set.
- **Price:** Free, Go, Plus and Pro plans. Paid prices are not published in the page text we read.
- **Best for:** explaining terms, drafting notes and thinking out loud.
- **One honest limitation:** it does not hold a structured history of company financials for you, so check figures against the filing.

### [Fiscal.ai](https://fiscal.ai/pricing) (for reference)

- **What it is:** a research terminal, a data feed API and MCP connectors that bring its data into AI tools.
- **What the AI does:** the MCP gives your own AI tools access to Fiscal.ai's financial data.
- **Data covered:** financials and ratios, segments and KPIs, adjusted metrics, filings, estimates, transcripts, ownership, news, 15 minute delayed quotes and letters from 750+ fund investors. Every figure links back to its filing.
- **Price:** not published. Terminal and MCP include a 7 day free trial.
- **Best for:** investors who want clean filing data in a terminal or inside their own AI tools.
- **One honest limitation:** prices are not on the pricing page, and there is no way to invest from it.

## Which one should you pick?

If you only want numbers, TIKR or Koyfin will do the job. If you want the numbers drawn as pictures, Simply Wall St. If you want an AI to read the web for you, Perplexity or ChatGPT. And if you want an agent that does the research, shows its sources and then lets you place the trade yourself, that is what Moneda was built for. Want to test a valuation yourself, like a [DCF](/blog/how-to-value-a-stock-with-ai) (discounted cash flow, which values a company on the cash it is expected to make)? Any of these give you the inputs, but you still choose the assumptions.
