> **Short answer**: eToro has its own AI tool, Tori, which reads market sentiment on X and reviews your portfolio. If you want analysis built on company filings, with a source behind every number, the closest alternative is Moneda, where you research and invest in the same app. Trade Republic, XTB and Scalable Capital are cheap brokers, but their official pages say nothing about AI analysis, so you'd pair them with a separate research tool.
>
> - **AI alternative for researching and investing:** Moneda (Standard free, Premium from €9.99 a month)
> - **Cheapest per stock trade:** XTB (0% commission up to €100,000 a month)
> - **Simplest flat pricing:** Trade Republic (no order commission, €1 external cost per trade)
> - **Widest choice of European assets:** Scalable Capital (FREE, or PRIME+ at €4.99 a month)

We checked each company's official pages on 30 October 2026. These products change often, so confirm the details on each website before you decide.

## First, what eToro does with AI

[eToro](https://www.etoro.com/trading/platforms/tori/) calls its AI tool Tori. eToro says it keeps track of your portfolio, your interests and your past conversations. It reads real-time market sentiment from X (powered by Grok), reviews your holdings and highlights risks. You can also describe a strategy and have Tori build an "Agent Portfolio" around it, which you can pause or stop at any time.

eToro says Tori gives information, not financial advice, that its answers may be inaccurate or incomplete, and that it does not consider your personal circumstances. There's no separate price listed for Tori. On [stocks](https://www.etoro.com/trading/fees/), a commission of $1 or $2 may apply when you open and close a position, depending on where you live and the exchange. ETF trades carry no commission. Manual crypto trades cost 1% per position on the Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers.

We didn't find any claim on eToro's pages that Tori works from companies' official filings or shows where each figure comes from. That's the main difference from the first alternative below.

## The comparison at a glance

| Moneda | Moneda AI on Numa 1, with the source of every figure | US-listed stocks and ETFs, crypto, gold, silver and oil via ETFs | Standard free, Premium from €9.99, Ultra from €19.99 a month |
| Trade Republic | Not described on its pages | Stocks, ETFs, crypto | No order commission, €1 external cost per trade |
| XTB | Not described on its pages | Stocks and ETFs | 0% up to €100,000 a month, then 0.2% |

## The alternatives

### 1. Moneda

**What it is.** A co-investing app for mobile and web, made in Europe. You research and invest in one place.

**What the AI does.** [Moneda AI](/financial-agent) runs on [Numa 1](/models/numa-1), Moneda's financial AI model. It cites the filing or data behind every number and lays out the case for and against an investment side by side. It reads the reports companies file with the SEC (the US securities regulator) and their earnings calls. You get a daily briefing and an alert when something changes. If you hold a portfolio on eToro or another broker, you can import it as a simulated portfolio. The agent can then analyse it, [stress test it](/blog/best-ai-tools-to-stress-test-a-portfolio) against past crashes, or measure it against gold or an index.

Moneda's own tests from October 2026 show 97.9% source faithfulness, 92% verifiable claims, 95.6% on FLARE-CFA, and 80% on the public set of Vals AI's Finance Agent Benchmark v2, run and graded by Moneda. The best score Vals AI has published is 65.4%, but that is on its private set, so the two figures can't be compared directly.

**Investing.** You can [invest](/invest) in US-listed stocks and ETFs, in crypto, and in gold, silver and oil through ETFs. The stocks are tokenised shares from brokerage partner Dinari, each backed one-for-one by a share Dinari holds. Moneda AI can prepare a trade, but you approve every one with your Passkey. Moneda itself is not regulated.

**With other AI tools.** [Moneda MCP](https://docs.moneda.com/mcp-overview) connects Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client to your account with the permissions you set, and payments are still approved in the app. Premium and Ultra include a REST API and a CLI. The details are on the [developers page](/developers).

**Price.** [Standard is free](/plans). Premium costs from €9.99 a month and Ultra from €19.99 a month. You get 1, 5 or 10 commission-free stock trades a month, depending on the plan.

**Honest limitation.** Shares are limited to US-listed stocks and ETFs. You can't buy European shares or funds.

### 2. [Trade Republic](https://support.traderepublic.com/en-de/809-What-are-ex-post-cost-information)

**What it is.** A German broker and bank available across much of Europe.

**AI.** The pages we checked don't describe any AI analysis.

**Price.** No order commission, but each trade carries a €1 external settlement cost. Product providers can add their own costs, such as an ETF's ongoing charges.

**Where it wins.** Pricing doesn't get much simpler. It suits people who buy a few times a month and don't want to compare venues.

**Honest limitation.** You'll need another tool to research a company properly.

### 3. [XTB](https://www.xtb.com/en)

**What it is.** A European broker offering stocks, ETFs and CFDs.

**AI.** Its website mentions a daily market news overview from the XTB research team. It doesn't mention AI.

**Price.** 0% commission on stocks and ETFs up to the equivalent of €100,000 in monthly turnover. Above that, 0.2% with a minimum charge. A 0.5% currency conversion cost may apply.

**Where it wins.** Most people pay no commission at all, which beats eToro's per-trade stock fee.

**Honest limitation.** The 0.5% conversion cost adds up if you buy a lot in dollars.

### 4. [Scalable Capital](https://de.scalable.capital/en/trading)

**What it is.** A German broker with a free plan and a flat-fee plan.

**AI.** Its trading page doesn't mention AI features.

**Price.** FREE: €0.99 per trade on EIX and €1.99 on Xetra and gettex. PRIME+: €4.99 a month, with commission-free trades on EIX from €250. Savings plan executions are commission free on both plans.

**Where it wins.** You get a wide range of European venues, ETFs and funds (over 3,800), none of which Moneda offers.

**Honest limitation.** Crypto comes as ETPs (exchange-traded products that track a coin), with a spread of 0.99% on FREE and 0.69% on PRIME+. You don't hold the coins themselves.

## A note on tax

Tax rules depend on where you live. Some countries ask you to report accounts or securities held with foreign providers, and eToro, Scalable Capital and Moneda may count as foreign depending on your country. Some brokers handle tax withholding for residents of certain countries; others leave it to you. This is general guidance only, so check your own situation with a tax adviser.

## How to choose

If you like eToro for its social side and its read on the market mood, Tori fits that style. If you want to know where a number comes from before you buy, try Moneda. If you mostly buy ETFs every month, any cheap broker here will do, plus a separate research tool. A quick test: ask two tools the same question about a company and keep the one that lets you check the answer.
